NAPII Calls for Probe into Enugu Commissioner Allegations

The Nigerian Association of Public Interest Lawyers (NAPII) has demanded an independent investigation into allegations involving Ezeh Lawrence Ozoemena, the Enugu State Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Technology. The call for transparency follows complaints received by NAPII regarding irregular land transactions linked to properties allegedly sold without consent from third parties.

These disputes reportedly involve a family in Port Harcourt and have intensified intra-family tensions. NAPII emphasized that the allegations remain unproven, and individuals are entitled to the presumption of innocence under Nigerian law.

The organization has urged relevant statutory bodies, including the Federal Government, Enugu State Government, and Nigeria Police Force, to conduct a fair, evidence-based review of the complaints. They also highlighted the need for adequate protection for all parties involved during the investigation process.
