CSO Calls for Intervention in Abuja Property Dispute

The Civil Society Organisation (CSO) Competent Governance for Accountability and Civic Trust (CGACT) has urged for immediate intervention concerning an alleged attempt to take over a 2.5-hectare property in Karmo district, Abuja, owned by Manec Homes Limited. The group, represented by national coordinator Amb.

Omoba Michael and general secretary Malam Baba Suleiman, has called on key authorities, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike and the Minister of Defence, to investigate the matter. The dispute was reported to the Nigeria Police Force, with both parties submitting title documents for verification by the Federal Capital Territory Development Authority (FCDA).

CGACT claims that the outcome recognized Manec Homes Limited's ownership but raised concerns about documents linked to Major General Wilson Ali (rtd), including discrepancies regarding the incorporation date of Bijou Properties Limited. Allegations have also surfaced regarding the deployment of military personnel to intimidate Manec Homes representatives, prompting CGACT to call for an investigation into the use of state security in private disputes.
