Ogun Plans N350m World's Tallest Drum to Boost Tourism

Dr. Lai Labod, founder of the Egbaliganza Cultural Movement, announced plans to construct the world's tallest drum in Ogun State, Nigeria, with a budget of N350 million.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance tourism and transform the cultural landscape of the state. The announcement was made during a briefing in Abeokuta, coinciding with the celebration of the Egbaliganza and the 39th Lisabi Festival, set to commence in 2024.

The paramount ruler of Egba land, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, has encouraged the sons and daughters of Egba to contribute innovative ideas for the advancement of their community. The drum, symbolizing unity, is expected to attract global attention and participation, with contributions from people worldwide.

The project aims to create a monument that will serve as a tourist attraction, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Egba people and contributing to the economic growth of Ogun State.
