Kwara NSCDC Chief Calls for Broader Response to Security Challenges

The Chief Commandant of the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Umar Mohammed, emphasized the need for a broader response to address the current security challenges in the state. Mohammed highlighted the increasing cases of banditry, kidnapping, cultism, and cybercrime, stating that conventional security agencies alone could no longer tackle these challenges effectively.

He advocated for stronger collaboration between conventional security agencies and private guard companies to combat insecurity. The security summit organized by the NSCDC in collaboration with the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN) aimed to enhance crime prevention and intelligence gathering through the integration of private security guards with conventional security agencies.
