Nigeria Customs Service Announces 2024/2025 Recruitment Results

The Nigeria Customs Service released the final list of successful candidates for its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise on Tuesday, with 3,852 candidates selected from a total of 573,680 applications. The announcement was made by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, during a press briefing at the Service headquarters in Abuja.

The successful candidates include 1,275 for the Superintendent Cadre, 367 for the Inspectorate Cadre, and 2,210 for the Customs Assistant Cadre. The recruitment process, which opened in December 2024, took 20 months to complete due to the high volume of applications and administrative challenges.

Adeniyi noted that the overall success rate was 0.67%, with significant competition in each cadre. The recruitment adhered to the Federal Character principle, ensuring representation from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Additionally, 839 women, making up 21.8% of the successful candidates, were appointed, slightly exceeding their share of applications received.
