Nigeria Customs Service Warns Against Fake Recruitment Scams

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) issued a statement on Thursday, dismissing a viral recruitment update circulating on social media as fake. The NCS clarified that the notice did not originate from the agency and warned Nigerians to avoid falling victim to fraudsters who exploit job seekers.

The agency emphasized that no recruitment exercise had been announced through the channels referenced in the misleading message. It advised the public to verify information before sharing or acting on recruitment-related publications, as fraudsters often create fake advertisements to obtain money or personal information.

The NCS reiterated that all official announcements regarding recruitment would be made through its verified communication platforms. To assist the public in identifying genuine information, the NCS listed its verified social media accounts, including its Facebook page and handles on Instagram, X, Threads, and TikTok as @customsng.
