Nigeria Customs Service Supports Athletes with N20m

During the opening ceremony of the 4th Governor Douye Diri Wrestling Classics on Thursday, March 26, Dr. Adewale Adeniyi, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, announced the disbursement of over N20 million to support athletes registered for the tournament in Yenagoa.

He reaffirmed that athlete welfare remains a top priority for his administration. Medallists at the wrestling classic will receive additional cash prizes, and every registered athlete will receive a cash prize of N25,000.

Furthermore, teams participating in the event will be eligible for logistical travel support. Dr.

Adeniyi assured that the tournament would continue to promote discipline among young wrestlers and emphasized the commitment to developing the sport through new ideas and initiatives.
