Nigerian Customs Exceeds Revenue Target, Generates ₦7.28 Trillion in 2025

The Nigerian Customs Service announced a remarkable revenue milestone, surpassing its 2025 target by generating a total of ₦7.28 trillion. The Comptroller General of Customs disclosed this achievement in Abuja, emphasizing the agency's strong financial performance in recent years.

The revenue outturn exceeded the approved annual target of ₦6.5 trillion by 10%, showcasing a positive variance. Adeniyi, the Customs boss, highlighted the agency's 19% revenue increase compared to the previous year, attributing the success to ongoing reforms, technology deployment, and improved compliance measures.

Adeniyi emphasized that the revenue growth was achieved without imposing burdens on legitimate trade, focusing on enhanced compliance, data utilization, and disciplined enforcement. The Customs Service's success in balancing revenue generation with trade facilitation mandates, especially within regional and global trade agreements, was also acknowledged.
