Nigeria Customs Service Disburses N7.61bn for Retirees

The Nigeria Customs Service released N7.61 billion to nine Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs) for the benefit of 4,237 retirees. Comptroller General Adewale Adeniyi emphasized the service's commitment to enhancing the welfare of its retired personnel.

This announcement was made during a dialogue regarding the disbursement of pension funds to PFAs for onward payment to individual retiree accounts. The breakdown of beneficiaries includes 1,223 from Access Bank, 2,268 from Premium Pension, 403 from Leadway Pension, 156 from Trustfund Pension, 144 from FCMB Pension, 28 from Veritas Glanvil Pension, 11 from Norrenberg Pension, and 4 from Fidel Pension Management.

Adeniyi assured that the service remains financially capable of meeting its obligations to retired officers and expressed the importance of maintaining a strong relationship with retirees. The dialogue was part of ongoing efforts to improve pension payments following the federal government's decision to review statutory provisions governing pensions.
