Zazzau Emir Urges Families to Cut Wedding Costs

During the 20th anniversary of the Crystal Muslim Organization (CMO) in Abuja, the Zazzau Emir, Alhaji Muhammad Sagir Shettima, called on families to cut down on extravagant wedding costs and instead use the money to help the needy. He lamented that despite the economic hardships in the country, wealthy families continue to spend lavishly on weddings, with some parents reportedly spending millions on cosmetics and attire.

The Emir stressed that many people struggle to afford basic meals, highlighting a concerning trend in society. He urged families to reconsider their spending habits in light of the current economic situation.

Furthermore, he advocated for integrating skills training into the Western Islamic school curriculum to enable students to become self-sufficient and start small businesses upon graduation. The event also recognized 12 students for their excellence in an essay competition, with various prizes awarded to encourage support for the poor.
