Emir of Zazzau Urges Nigerians to Cut Wedding Costs

During the 20th anniversary event of the Crystal Muslim Organisation in Abuja, the Emir of Zazzau, Bamal, called on Nigerian families to rethink their lavish expenditures on aso-ebi and wedding makeup. He expressed concern over the excessive amounts spent, noting that some parents allocate as much as 10,000 naira for makeup and up to half a million naira for aso-ebi, while many people struggle to afford three meals a day.

The Emir emphasized that such spending is unnecessary and does not align with the current financial conditions in the country. He encouraged families to redirect their funds towards helping those in need within their communities, advocating for a more prudent approach to celebrations.

Bamal stated that it is crucial to teach children the value of money and to focus on strengthening community ties rather than engaging in extravagant parties that do not contribute to societal well-being.
