CVR: Benue PCC boss, Oche calls on Nigerian youths to register, hold leaders accountable

The Public Complaints Commissioner (PCC) of Benue State, Hon. James Ogaba Oche, has urged Nigerian youths to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Stressing the importance of youth involvement in the electoral process, Hon. Oche emphasized that voter registration is a civic duty that allows citizens to hold leaders accountable and bring about change.

The CVR window is open until August 30, 2026, and eligible citizens aged 18 and above can register, update their records, transfer polling units, or replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). Despite the youth population making up 60% of the voting age demographic in Nigeria, historical data shows low turnout in elections, with only around 30% of youth participating in the 2023 polls.

Hon. Oche called for young Nigerians, especially in Benue State, to register and ensure their voices are heard in future elections.
