CVR: Kano Targets 10m Registered Voters Ahead Of 2027

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has set a target of registering 10 million voters ahead of the 2027 elections. He inaugurated a taskforce to oversee the voter registration process and emphasized the importance of voter cards as tools for civic duty.

The committee, chaired by the Commissioner of Information and Home Affairs Abdullahi Waiya, was directed to mobilize citizens, ensure fairness in registration, and collaborate with INEC and other stakeholders. Governor Yusuf stressed the government's commitment to supporting the registration process and urged the committee to work diligently.

Waiya, in response, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pledged to mobilize eligible voters across the state. The aim is to ensure no one is denied registration and to monitor the effectiveness of the process in the politically vibrant state of Kano.
