DAAR Communications Clarifies CAC Shareholding Record Discrepancies

DAAR Communications Plc (DAARCOMM) issued a formal clarification to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on 6 May 2026, responding to an online publication by Nairametrics dated 29 April 2026, which referenced statements by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) following a reported cyber attack on CAC records.

The company stated that it neither authorised nor contributed to the Nairametrics publication. DAARCOMM confirmed it had previously notified the NGX, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the CAC of discrepancies observed in its shareholding records on the CAC portal.

According to the filing, no changes to the company's shareholding structure have been approved by the Board or processed through statutory channels. DAARCOMM stated that any variance currently visible on the CAC portal does not align with its own records and remains subject to ongoing engagement with regulators.

The company affirmed that its broadcast, commercial, and digital operations continue to run without interruption. DAARCOMM also stated its compliance with the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA 2020) and the Nigerian Code of Corporate Governance (NCCG). The filing was signed by Company Secretary Jennifer Egbaran.
