Daddy Freeze Critiques Peter Obi Over Luxury Handbag

Media personality Daddy Freeze targeted former Anambra governor and 2027 presidential hopeful Peter Obi regarding a luxury handbag owned by Obi's wife, Margaret. In a video shared on X on September 13, 2026, Daddy Freeze showcased images of Margaret Obi with a green Hermès Kelly 35 Malachite handbag, valued at approximately £131,938.81, equating to around N237 to N250 million.

He noted that Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, initially highlighted the handbag's appearance. Daddy Freeze clarified that his criticism was not aimed at wealth itself but at the inconsistency of Obi's brand, which emphasizes personal restraint and reduced governance costs.

He pointed out that the same supporters who would criticize others for similar displays of wealth were silent in this case. He referenced biblical scripture to question the credibility of self-described humility and expressed respect for Obi while voicing concerns about accountability among his supporters.
