David Mark Mourns Influential Statesman Bamanga Tukur

David Mark, the former Senate President, expressed deep sorrow over the death of Bamanga Tukur, describing it as a significant loss for Nigeria, especially during a time when the nation requires the wisdom and experience of its elder statesmen. In a statement released through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, Mark acknowledged Tukur's extensive contributions to Nigeria's political, administrative, and economic development over several decades.

Tukur served as the Governor of the old Gongola State, Minister of Industries, and later led the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Mark noted that Tukur was not only a dedicated public servant but also a successful businessman and international figure whose impact extended beyond politics to national development and institution-building.

He extended condolences to Tukur's family, the government and people of Adamawa State, and his political associates, praying for Tukur's eternal rest and for his family to find strength in their loss.
