Dangote Orders 1,000 CNG Tractors from BAIC FOTON

Aliko Dangote, the president of Dangote Group, has placed an order for 1,000 compressed natural gas (CNG) tractors and semi-trailers from the Chinese automaker BAIC FOTON. This order, disclosed in a statement published on BAIC FOTON's official website on March 2, 2026, was formalized during a strategic meeting in Beijing on February 25, 2026.

The order is part of a logistics transport project aimed at expanding Dangote Group's fleet and deploying CNG-powered vehicles across its operations in Nigeria and Africa. The vehicles are expected to significantly enhance the group's logistics operations, providing reliable transport capacity for infrastructure development and essential services.

During the meeting, Dangote led a delegation that included Chang Rui, General Manager of BAIC Group, Lu Zhenghua, Executive Vice President of BAIC FOTON, and Fu Jun, Vice President of BAIC FOTON. Fu Jun praised Dangote Group's contributions to Africa's industrialization and highlighted BAIC FOTON's advanced new energy vehicle technology, pledging smooth delivery of the order.
