Dangote Refinery Exceeds 650,000 bpd Capacity

The Dangote Refinery has surpassed a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day (bpd), as reported by the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). This achievement is part of a broader strategy to redefine Nigeria's energy security and deepen industrialization.

The refinery is set to commence processes to double its capacity to 1.4 million bpd. Aliko Dangote, the founder of Dangote Group, emphasized the significance of this milestone, stating that it demonstrates Nigeria's industrial capabilities and the potential for collaboration with NNPC.

The partnership aims to enhance Nigeria's position in the African market and includes plans for a linear alkyl benzene facility, expected to surpass current African production capacity. NNPC currently holds a 7.25% equity stake in the refinery, and both organizations are committed to strengthening their collaboration to unlock greater value within the existing industrial complex.
