Dangote Explains Why He Didn't Buy Arsenal FC

Aliko Dangote, Africa's richest man, reiterated his reasons for not buying Arsenal FC during a podcast broadcast on YouTube. He stated that while he considered acquiring the North London club, valued at $2 billion at the time, the magnitude of his $20 billion refinery project in Lagos prevented him from diverting funds to football club ownership.

Dangote emphasized that his focus remains on completing the refinery and other business ventures, which include fertilizer and petrochemical projects. He expressed his loyalty as a fan, stating he prefers to support Arsenal from the stands rather than as an owner.

Dangote's interest in Arsenal dates back 15 years, and he had previously discussed plans for a full takeover in 2015. He advised young Africans to work hard and believe in a brighter future for the continent.
