Dangote Launches Deep Seaport Project in Ogun State

Aliko Dangote's Dangote Group has commenced preliminary work on a 10,000-hectare deep seaport project in the Olokola Free Trade Zone, Ogun State. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to expand Nigeria's maritime infrastructure and promote export-driven industrialization.

The proposed port, located in the Ogun Waterside Local Government Area, will serve as a major logistics hub for trade, supporting the export of fertilizers, petrochemicals, and petroleum products, while also handling liquefied natural gas exports. A delegation led by Managing Director of Infrastructure Logistics, Jamil Abubakar, has already engaged with local stakeholders, including traditional rulers such as Lenuwa Od Omi and Folailu Hassan.

The project aligns with Dangote's Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to transform the conglomerate into a $100 billion global powerhouse, including plans to double refinery capacity and develop a 20,000 MW power project. The port is expected to create jobs and stimulate business activities in the region.
