Ogun Coastal Highway Completion Boosts Deep Sea Port Plans

Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun announced that a 28-kilometer stretch of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway traversing Ogun State will be completed by the end of 2026. This project is part of a broader initiative to boost the proposed Ogun Deep Sea Port, which aims to stimulate economic growth along the state's coastline.

Governor Abiodun commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for initiating the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, describing it as a visionary infrastructure project that will open up significant economic opportunities for Ogun State. The highway is expected to enhance trade, investment, and tourism in the region.

Governor Abiodun also discussed plans to establish a naval base and dockyard within the proposed port complex to strengthen maritime security. He noted the historical neglect of the Ogun Waterside area and emphasized the need for improved infrastructure to attract investors.

Additionally, the governor mentioned plans to revive the long-abandoned Olokola Liquefied Natural Gas project and intensify oil exploration activities in the region.
