Ogun Governor Revives OKLNG Project for Maritime Hub

On Friday, Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun announced the revival of the Olokola Liquefied Natural Gas (OKLNG) project, which had been dormant for years. This initiative is part of a broader vision to transform Ogun Waterside into Nigeria's next industrial maritime hub.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has informed the Ogun State government of its decision to reinvigorate the multi-billion dollar project. Governor Abiodun described the reconstruction of the Gao-Ibiad road as a strategic investment to prepare the area for anticipated industrial and commercial maritime activities.

He also revealed the discovery of premium grade crude oil in the area, which is expected to enhance investment prospects. The governor emphasized the importance of infrastructure development across Ogun State and announced that the reconstruction of the J4 Gao road would commence soon, further improving access within the coastal corridor.

Local government representatives praised the governor's efforts to unlock the area's economic potential.
