Dasuki Mourns Sardauna of Sokoto, Calls Loss Irreplaceable

On Thursday, Rep. Abdussamad Dasuki, the Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji, the Sardauna of Sokoto, calling it an irreplaceable loss to the Sultanate, Northern Nigeria, and the nation.

Dasuki made these remarks in Sokoto after attending the funeral prayer at the Sultan Muhammadu Bello Mosque, led by Sheikh Muhammadu Bello Akwara. He noted that Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji, KBE, who was from the house of Buhari dan Shehu Danfodiyo, represented the end of an era in public service and traditional leadership.

Dasuki highlighted Alhaji's distinguished career as a civil servant, diplomat, and elder statesman, emphasizing his commitment to integrity and service to Nigeria. The funeral prayer was attended by several dignitaries, including Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima and Sultan of Sokoto Muhammed Sa’ad Abubakar III.

Dasuki extended condolences to the Sultan, the family, and the Muslim community, praying for the deceased's forgiveness and peace.
