Kano Delegation Condoles Sultan Over Sardauna's Death

A delegation from the Kano State Government visited the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, to convey condolences over the death of the Sardaunan Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji. The visit, representing Governor Abba Yusuf, was announced in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, on Tuesday.

The delegation was led by Deputy Governor Murtala Garo and included Secretary to the State Government Umar Ibrahim, Emir of Rano Muhammad Umar, Kano State APC Chairman Umar Doguwa, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism Aisha Saji, and other senior officials. They first visited the late Sardaunan Sokoto's residence, where they expressed condolences to the bereaved family, with Aminu Abubakar, the deceased’s first son, thanking the governor for his support.

The delegation then met with the Sultan, who appreciated the gesture as a sign of unity among Northern Nigerians. They also visited the Sokoto State Government House to convey condolences to the state government.

Governor Yusuf prayed for the deceased and emphasized the late Sardaunan's contributions to the Sultanate and Northern Nigeria.
