Datti Baba-Ahmed: Only God Can Stop Tinubu's 2027 Bid

Datti Baba-Ahmed, the former vice-presidential candidate who ran with Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential election, stated in an interview with TrustTV that only God can stop Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027. He acknowledged Tinubu's extensive political organization and ability to build alliances over 16 years, which he credited for Tinubu's emergence as president in 2023.

Baba-Ahmed noted that Tinubu's political influence was not instantaneous but the result of strategic planning and execution, particularly in the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015. He contrasted Tinubu's approach with that of Atiku Abubakar, the former vice-president and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), suggesting that Atiku's political strategies were hindered by internal resistance.

Baba-Ahmed described Tinubu's 2023 electoral victory as akin to winning a "lottery with 16 digits" and criticized the current state of the opposition as disorganized, claiming that Tinubu could influence opposition party dynamics.
