Davido Condemns Attack on Osun Accord Party Chairman

Nigerian afrobeat star Davido, whose uncle Ademola Adeleke is the governor of Osun State, condemned the attack on Asimiyu Ajibola, known as Baba Isila, the chairman of the Accord Party in Osogbo. The incident occurred around 9:50 PM near the Osogbo Community Bank in the Axi MD area, where gunmen allegedly opened fire on Ajibola and a friend, causing panic among residents.

Ajibola sustained injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. In response to the violence, Davido called for an end to political violence, stressing that political differences should not lead to insecurity or bloodshed.

He urged politicians to resolve their differences at the ballot box rather than resorting to violence, stating, "Let’s settle ballot paper, not gun weapon.".
