Davido Alleges Plot to Deregister Accord Party in Osun

Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido expressed alarm over an alleged plan to deregister the Accord Party, which is set to participate in the Osun State governorship election on August 15, 2026. He made these allegations in a post on Thursday, questioning the rationale behind the move to remove the party from the political race.

Davido emphasized the need for a transparent and competitive electoral process, insisting that the party should be allowed to participate freely. He described the attempt to deregister the Accord Party as cowardly and criticized the political maneuvers as desperate ahead of the upcoming polls.

Additionally, he publicly criticized Gboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, for his involvement in what he termed a politically motivated arrangement.
