Gunmen Attack Osun Accord Party Chairman Asimiyu Ajibola

On Wednesday night at approximately 9:50 PM, Asimiyu Ajibola, the chairman of the Accord Party in Osogbo Local Government Area, was shot by two armed men on a motorcycle. The Osun State Police Command described the incident as an attempted murder.

Following the attack, police responded to a distress call and evacuated Ajibola to the Osun State University Teaching Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition and responding positively to treatment. Abiodun Ojelabi, the police spokesperson, confirmed that a manhunt for the suspects has been initiated.

Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan has ordered a high-level investigation, deploying all available resources to identify and apprehend the attackers. Osun State Governor Kolapo Alimi condemned the attack and called for a thorough investigation, urging security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
