Mayze Davies Returns to Wales Squad for Albania Matches

Mayze Davies has been recalled to the Wales squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifying double-header against Albania, marking his return after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that kept him out for 11 months. The 19-year-old, who plays for Manchester City, recently returned to action with the Manchester City U21 side.

However, head coach Rhian Wilkinson has indicated that Davies may not participate in the camp to avoid putting pressure on him after a long layoff. Olivia Clark, a goalkeeper with 35 caps, is absent from the squad due to a lower leg injury sustained during training last month.

In her place, Wilkinson has handed a first senior call-up to Luci Farrell Shrouder, a 22-year-old on loan from Stoke City. Wales will face Albania in Wrexham on April 14, 2024, before traveling to Elbasan Arena for the return fixture four days later.
