Samuel Ogazi, who recently turned 20, has announced his decision to turn professional, concluding a remarkable collegiate career at the University of Alabama. Over three extraordinary seasons, he has established himself as one of the greatest 400m runners in NCAA history.

Just two weeks prior, Ogazi won the NCAA outdoor championship with a record-breaking time of 43.38 seconds, making him the fourth fastest man in history for that distance. Earlier in the year, he also claimed the NCAA indoor 400m title, setting an African indoor record of 44.57 seconds.
