Odita Sunday Elected New DECAN President in Nigeria

Odita Sunday was unanimously elected as the new President of the Defense Correspondents Association of Nigeria (DECAN) during a recent meeting. Alongside him, the newly elected executive team includes Chiemeli Ezeobi as Vice President, Musa Umar Bologi as Secretary, Benjamin Samson as Treasurer, Kikelomo Oker as Financial Secretary, Ihotu Odoh as Welfare Officer, Agbor Jame as Provost, and Mathew Abi as Public Relations Officer.

The new executive committee has pledged to prioritize member welfare and strengthen collaboration with key stakeholders in the defense and security sector to support national security and peace development. Odita emphasized the importance of empowering members and fostering partnerships within the defense intelligence community to enhance national security.

He also acknowledged the sacrifices of Nigerian troops in confronting security challenges and reaffirmed DECAN's commitment to promoting peace and security in the nation.
