PDP Leaders Address Loss of 31 Senators Amid Crisis

Natasha Akpoti and Uduaghan addressed the significant loss of 31 senators from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) during a media event in Abuja on Saturday. They highlighted the party's prolonged internal crisis, which has contributed to a sharp decline in its representation in the Senate.

Akpoti noted that the PDP's current representation has dwindled from 37 senators to just six, attributing this decline to ongoing leadership crises within the party. Despite these challenges, she expressed optimism that the inauguration of the PDP's convention committee could mark a turning point for the party.

Former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu described the event as a critical moment in the party's history, acknowledging the internal challenges and legal battles threatening the party's unity. He urged members to focus on honest reconciliation and mutual respect to restore confidence within the PDP as they prepare for the 2027 general elections.
