Wike Criticizes Obi's Political Maneuvers and Defections

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), made remarks regarding Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, during a media appearance on Wednesday. Wike accused Obi of looking for a "food is ready" political party, implying that Obi is seeking immediate political advantages rather than committing to a party's long-term vision.

Wike referenced Obi's past with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), stating that Obi could not build the party and subsequently left the Labour Party. Wike's comments come in the context of Obi's recent political maneuvers, including the announcement of Rabi'u Kwankwaso, a former presidential candidate, joining the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
