Bala Mohammed Dismisses Isolation in PDP Amid Defections

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed addressed concerns regarding his perceived isolation within the People's Democratic Party (PDP) amid ongoing political defections. Speaking at the State House in Abuja, he asserted his commitment to the PDP and dismissed suggestions that he might defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mohammed emphasized that he does not feel lonely in the party, despite acknowledging internal challenges and litigations. He defended the PDP's resilience, citing its performance in recent elections, including the Federal Capital Territory area council elections.

The governor's remarks come against the backdrop of defections, including that of Adamawa State Governor Umaru Fintiri to the APC. Additionally, Mohammed highlighted the worsening security situation in Bauchi, particularly in the Alkaleri local government area, and sought federal intervention from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to address rising insecurity and humanitarian concerns.
