APC Chieftain Ahmed Claims Opposition is Weak Amid Defections

In a recent interview on a Channels Television political program, Ahmed, an APC chieftain, expressed that the opposition parties, particularly the PDP, are "unbelievably weak." He highlighted the significant defections from the PDP to the APC, including the recent switch by Dauda Lawal, the governor of Zamfara State. Currently, only two PDP governors remain, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State.

There are rumors that the latter may soon leave the PDP as well. Ahmed attributed the mass defections to the weakness of the opposition parties, asserting that the APC does not actively seek out these individuals; rather, people are choosing to join the APC.

His comments reflect the current political landscape in Nigeria, where party loyalty appears to be shifting significantly.
