PDP Chieftain Confident Defectors Will Return

Emmanuel Ogidi, a chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), stated during a live appearance on Trust TV that he believes politicians who have defected from the PDP will eventually return. His comments come amid a significant exodus of politicians, especially governors, from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ogidi specifically referenced the situation of Ahmadu Fintiri, the governor of Adamawa State, who has recently aligned himself with the APC. When questioned about Fintiri's defection, Ogidi described him as a gentleman and refrained from speaking ill of the party he left.

He emphasized that such political movements are commonplace in Nigeria's political landscape, which he believes is no longer practicing true democracy. Ogidi's remarks reflect a broader sentiment regarding the fluidity of party affiliations among Nigerian politicians.
