Nigerian Defence Minister Inspects Nigerian Air Force Aircraft Production in Italy

Nigerian Defence Minister Moham Badaru inspected the ongoing production of Nigerian Air Force aircraft and helicopters at Leonardo's defense manufacturing facilities in Italy. The visit was part of a delegation led by Bola Tinubu.

The inspection revealed progress on the production of AW109 Trekker attack helicopters and M-346 fighter attack jets, with some already undergoing flight tests. The aim is to modernize the Nigerian armed forces and strengthen defense partnerships.

The Nigerian Air Force expects to receive 24 aircraft in batches by 2026.
