Nigeria's Defence Minister Commits to Securing NLNG Operations

On a visit to the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja, General Christoph Musa Gwabin (rtd), the Defence Minister, reaffirmed the Nigerian government's unwavering commitment to securing critical national assets, particularly the operations of Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) and energy infrastructure. The high-level meeting focused on enhancing security collaboration to protect vital energy infrastructure, ensuring economic stability as NLNG expands its capacity.

General Gwabin acknowledged the need for close collaboration to effectively resolve operational bottlenecks and address maritime insecurity. He highlighted the creation of a dedicated maritime task force operating within the Gulf of Guinea to tackle these issues.

Ley Falad, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NLNG, expressed gratitude for the Nigerian Armed Forces' role in safeguarding the nation's critical infrastructure, which is vital for economic growth. Both parties agreed to establish closer operational synergies to guarantee the security and resilience of NLNG's ongoing operations.
