Delta Community Launches Free Ambulance Service Initiative

The Asaba community in Delta State has unveiled a free ambulance service initiative, supported by a N10 million take-off fund. The launch ceremony featured Prof.

Epiphani Azing, who explained that while ambulances have not yet been purchased, the project aims to improve emergency healthcare delivery within the community. The initiative is designed to serve residents and will be community-driven, offering free services to all Asaba residents, not just indigenes.

Prof. Azing expressed confidence in the project's success, noting that the community already has access to healthcare professionals.

The plan includes deploying at least five ambulances within the next two months, with arrangements in place to ensure smooth operations. The initiative complements ongoing efforts to revitalize primary healthcare centers in the area.

Additionally, the traditional ruler called for support from non-governmental organizations and financial institutions to sustain the service.
