Nigerian Navy Provides Free Medical Care to 1,000 in Delta

On the occasion of the Nigerian Navy's 70th anniversary, a free medical outreach was conducted in Uvwi Community, Delta State, benefiting 1,000 individuals. The event, coordinated by the Nigerian Navy Hospital in Warri, provided essential health services including blood pressure and blood sugar checks, hepatitis B and C screenings, malaria tests, and general medical treatments.

Commodore Shehu Mohammed Tasiu emphasized that the outreach was a direct service to the community, reinforcing the Navy's role in national security and community support. Additionally, insecticide-treated mosquito nets were distributed to children and pregnant women.

Captain Umar Faruk Adamu from the Nigerian Navy Hospital indicated that the program was part of the Navy's commitment to healthcare in the Niger Delta. Chief Hope Erut, a community leader, praised the Navy for its efforts to strengthen military-civilian relationships through such initiatives.
