Delta Police Enhance Security for Eid-el-Fitri 2026

The Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Aina Adesola, has directed the strategic deployment of police personnel throughout Delta State in preparation for the Eid-el-Fitri celebration, which is set to occur on Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026. A statement from the police public relations officer, SP Bright Edaf, confirmed that adequate security measures will be implemented to safeguard lives and property, as well as to ensure the free flow of traffic during the celebrations.

The deployment will include conventional police personnel and tactical units positioned at Eid prayer grounds in strategic locations across the state. CP Adesola has warned criminal elements, including cultists and mischief-makers, to refrain from unlawful activities, emphasizing that the command is fully prepared to address any threats to public peace.

Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner of Police has been tasked with ensuring effective coordination and supervision of the deployment to maintain sustained peace and security throughout the celebration period. The command has urged members of the public to remain law-abiding and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
