IGP Deploys Tactical Assets for Peaceful Eid-el-Fitr

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has issued an order for the nationwide deployment of tactical assets and personnel to ensure a secure environment during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. This directive applies to all state commands and the Federal Capital Territory, aiming to create a safe atmosphere for citizens throughout the festive period.

The IGP has instructed the strategic deployment of tactical teams, intelligence operations, and special intervention squads to key locations, including Eid prayer grounds and critical infrastructure. The police presence will be heightened along highways, motor parks, recreational centers, and public spaces to guarantee a hitch-free celebration.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Anthony Placid, emphasized the need for increased visible police patrols, enhanced surveillance, and intelligence-led stop-and-search operations to deter criminal activities and ensure rapid response to any emerging threats. The IGP also extended Eid-el-Fitr greetings to the Muslim community across the country, urging the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies.
