Edo Police Deploy 5,000 Personnel for Eid-el-Fitr Security

On Wednesday, the Edo State Police Command announced the deployment of 5,000 personnel to maintain peace and security during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. The deployment aims to enhance police visibility in public spaces, particularly at Eid prayer grounds, major roads, and motor parks where large gatherings are expected.

The Commissioner of Police, Mondai Agbonika, emphasized that the deployment includes explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) personnel strategically positioned to conduct sweeps in high-traffic areas to detect and neutralize potential threats. The police will maintain a strong presence throughout the celebration period, with sustained patrols and intelligence-driven operations focusing on entry and exit routes in the state.

Residents are encouraged to go about their lawful activities without fear and to report any unusual movements or objects. The command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Edo State during this festive period.
