Delta Police Investigate Sexual Assault at Ozoro Festival

The Delta State Police Command has launched a full investigation into a sexual assault that took place during the Ozoro festival in the Isoko North Council area of Delta State. This action follows the release of a disturbing video related to the incident.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, Aina Adesola, has ordered an immediate and thorough probe, resulting in the arrest of four suspects. Chief organizer of the event, Sundai Omored, is also involved in the investigation.

Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edaf, condemned the act, describing sexual violence as a grave violation of victims' rights and dignity. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further inquiries, with tactical resources deployed to identify, apprehend, and prosecute those found culpable.

Edaf urged victims and witnesses to come forward with information, assuring them of confidentiality and professionalism. Commissioner Adesola appealed to Delta residents to remain calm and vigilant, emphasizing the police's commitment to safeguarding lives and maintaining order.
