Delta Police Arrest 11 More Suspects in Festival Assault

The Delta State Police Command announced the arrest of 11 more suspects in connection with the sexual assault of women during a recent festival in Ozoro. This announcement was made in a statement by the state government on Saturday.

The police investigation, which was described as a major breakthrough, was led by Commissioner of Police Aina Adesola and involved a special assignment team that conducted a detailed analysis of video evidence and intelligence. Among those arrested are Samson Atukpodo, Steven Ovi, Ugbevo, Samson Afok, Akporobaro, and Evid Ogunam, along with six others.

The government emphasized that the actions of the suspects do not reflect legitimate cultural practices and reaffirmed the police command's commitment to ensuring that all involved are identified and brought to justice. Earlier, the Delta State Police Command had arrested five individuals, including a community head, in connection with the same incident.
