Delta SUBEB Enrols 2,000 Out-Of-School Children

The Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has successfully enrolled 2,000 out-of-school children in a child community outreach campaign. The Executive Chairman, Hon Samuel Mariere, addressed allegations of bribery and kickback collection within the leadership, dismissing them as false and malicious.

Mariere emphasized the board's commitment to providing special needs learners with necessary resources such as braille, hearing aids, and mobility devices. The board is also focused on improving transparency and delivery of learning materials to rural and riverine schools.

Infrastructure improvements include the construction of 162 new classrooms, renovation of 491 classrooms, and installation of 164 VIP toilets and 5 boreholes. Mariere highlighted the board's investment in teacher training and digital tools to ensure every child in Delta State has access to quality education.

The procurement and payment system is governed by federal laws and subject to internal audits for transparency and accountability.
