UBEC Enhances Teaching Quality and Infrastructure for Nigerian Students

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) is repositioning for enhanced service delivery in Nigeria. The Executive Secretary, Uchechukwu Nnaike, and UBEC's Executive Secretary, Hajia Aisha Garba, announced plans to improve teaching quality through the Teacher Professional Development (TPD) program.

The agency has made significant progress in constructing classrooms, establishing SMART schools, and providing furniture to impact millions of learners nationwide. The recent Lagos retreat with senior officials aimed to align key priorities to meet educational goals for over 34 million Nigerian children.

The retreat highlighted the need for system improvements and collaborative efforts to drive positive impacts in classrooms across the country.
