Uba Sani Grants Clemency to 97 Inmates in Kaduna

On the occasion of the 2026 Democracy Day celebrations, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani announced the granting of clemency to 97 eligible inmates at the Kaduna Medium Security Custodial Centre. The decision, shared on his verified Facebook page on Friday night, reflects the governor's unwavering commitment to justice and equity, particularly for vulnerable citizens whose socio-economic circumstances may have contributed to their incarceration.

Governor Sani expressed a firm belief that every individual deserves a second chance to rebuild their lives. He urged the beneficiaries to embrace this opportunity responsibly, cultivate good character, and acquire skills that would enable them to positively impact society.

The governor also acknowledged the contributions of the judiciary, Nigerian Correctional Service, Legal Aid Council, security agencies, traditional and religious leaders, and civil society organizations in the success of this initiative, which aims to enhance justice and provide every citizen with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to collective growth and development.
