Kaduna State Disburses N100,000 to 97 Pardoned Inmates

The Kaduna State government, led by Governor Uba Sani, has disbursed N100,000 each to 97 pardoned inmates as part of a financial support initiative aimed at aiding their reintegration into society. This payment, carried out on a Friday at the Kaduna Medium Security Custodial Centre, fulfills the governor's pledge to support beneficiaries following their release on June 12, which coincides with Democracy Day.

The initiative is designed to assist the former inmates in settling fines imposed on them, thereby facilitating their release and reducing the likelihood of reoffending. Dalhat Ibrahim, an official, described this intervention as a boost to rehabilitation efforts, encouraging beneficiaries to use the funds to start small businesses rather than return to crime.

Moham Suleiman, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Protocol, stated that this disbursement marks the final phase of the clemency program. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the financial support, which they believe will help them rebuild their lives and avoid criminal activities.
