Nigeria Falconets Qualify for U20 Women's World Cup

The Nigeria U20 Women's National Team, known as the Falconets, qualified for the U20 Women's World Cup despite losing to Malawi. The decisive match took place at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe, where Malawi's Faith Chimzimu scored a brace, leading to a 2-1 victory.

However, Nigeria's first-leg win was sufficient to advance. Oscar Preciou, who came off the bench, scored the crucial goal that made the difference in the tie.

The Falconets have maintained their tradition of qualifying for every edition of the U20 Women's World Cup since its inception in 2002. This will mark their 12th appearance in the tournament, which is scheduled to be held in Poland from September 5 to 27, 2023.
